Stree 2 Crosses ₹200Cr In Five Days, Sets New Box Office Record Against KGF 2

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Following the massive success of Stree in 2018, the sequel, Stree 2, was highly anticipated this year. The film reunited Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, with notable performances by Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it introduced a new villain, Sarkata bhoot, and featured cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Given the significant buzz around it, Stree 2 became one of the year's most awaited releases. The horror comedy not only met expectations but also broke box office records. It opened to rave reviews from both audiences and critics. On its first day, including paid previews, it collected Rs 60.3 crores, making it the highest opener of the year.

Interestingly, Stree 2 outperformed Yash's KGF Chapter 2 to become the fifth fastest film to cross Rs 200 crores in India. It followed Jawan, Animal, Pathaan, and Gadar 2 in this achievement. For context, KGF Chapter 2 had earned Rs 219.56 crores in five days.

The movie maintained strong box office performance over its opening weekend. By day four (first Sunday), it had crossed the Rs 190 crores mark. Additionally, Stree 2 surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan for the second-highest day-four collection ever with Rs 55 crores, just behind Jawan's Rs 71.63 crores.

Sacnilk reported that on day four (first Sunday), Stree 2 saw a jump of 27.48%, earning Rs 55.9 crores. However, there was a noticeable drop on the first Monday by around 33.81%, with collections amounting to Rs 37 crores. This brought the total earnings to Rs 228.45 crores.

Meanwhile, Stree 2 faced competition at the box office from Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa but managed to outperform both films significantly.

The first Monday is often crucial for determining a film's long-term success. Stree 2 passed this test impressively despite a drop in numbers compared to its opening weekend.
