Stree 2's Day 16 Box Office Dip May Still Eclipse Sultan's Record

Stree 2 Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 16 Prediction: Stree 2, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has become a major topic of discussion this year. The horror comedy has set new standards in the genre and is now the highest-grossing film of 2024. With Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana also in lead roles, Stree 2 has received rave reviews from both audiences and critics globally.

The film had an impressive opening day worldwide box office collection of Rs 80 crores. During its first week, it maintained strong box office performance, reaching Rs 380 crores worldwide. However, the second week saw a slowdown, with daily collections struggling to surpass Rs 20 crores. Despite this decline, Stree 2 continues to hold its ground at the global box office.

According to Sacnilk, Stree 2's collections have consistently dropped in the second week. On day 13 (second Tuesday), it earned Rs 20.25 crores. By day 14 (second Wednesday), the collection fell to Rs 14 crores. Yesterday (day 15/third Thursday), it made Rs 11.25 crores, bringing the total worldwide earnings to Rs 617.25 crores. Notably, Stree 2 is on track to surpass Prabhas' Salaar Part 1's lifetime worldwide collection of Rs617.75 crores.

Discussing the film's success, Amar Kaushik told Connect Cine, "I didn't expect this big response. I think the audience wants such films to come out. Where ever I would go, people kept asking me 'What is the end of Stree?' This film was made on public demand. We didn't hurry with this film because we wanted to do justice to the story. We thought it clicked well with the public when we released the trailer but when we opened the advance ticket sale, we were like, 'What is happening?' This is just love of the public".

Based on current trends, Stree 2 is projected to earn between Rs 10-15 crores today (day 16/third Friday). This would bring its total close to Rs 630 crores worldwide. If these predictions hold true, Stree 2 will surpass Salman Khan's Sultan (2016), which earned Rs 627.82 crores during its run.

The movie’s remarkable success highlights a growing interest in horror comedies among audiences. The consistent performance at the box office underscores its widespread appeal and strong word-of-mouth promotion.
