Stree 2 Joins Elite 500Cr Club In Just 22 Days, Surpasses Bollywood Giants

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 22: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are celebrating the success of their latest film, Stree 2. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror comedy is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree. The film, which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, has become the biggest blockbuster of 2024 so far. Stree 2 received rave reviews from audiences upon its release.

Stree 2 had an impressive start at the box office with an opening collection of Rs 60.3 crores, marking the highest opening of the year. Despite facing competition from John Abraham's Vedaa and Akshay Kumar's Vedaa, the horror comedy maintained strong box office performance during its opening weekend. Although there was a noticeable drop in collections during week three, Stree 2 continued to perform well due to the lack of new releases.

As Stree 2 entered its fourth week, it continued to achieve significant milestones. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.6 crores on day 21 (third Wednesday) and saw a slight drop of 5.1% on day 22 (fourth Thursday), collecting Rs 5.31 crores. This brought the total earnings to Rs 503.21 crores, allowing Stree 2 to join the prestigious Rs 500 crores club.

Stree 2 has been competing with major blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan, Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, and Prabhas' Baahubali 2. With a collection of Rs 5.31 crores on day 22, it surpassed Gadar 2's Rs 5.2 crores for the third highest day-22 collection after KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 6.3 crores) and Jawan (Rs 5.81 crores). Additionally, Stree 2 became the second fastest Bollywood film to reach Rs 500 crores in India after Jawan achieved this milestone in just 18 days.

The success of Stree 2 has sparked rumours about a third installment in the franchise. Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Janaa in the series, mentioned to Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time, parts of its script have already been written. He added that it will be "a big epic saga".

Despite facing stiff competition at the box office, Stree 2 has managed to hold its ground remarkably well. The film's consistent performance is a testament to its popularity among audiences and its strong storyline.

The movie's success can be attributed not only to its star-studded cast but also to its engaging plot and direction by Amar Kaushik. As fans eagerly await news about Stree 3, it's clear that this franchise has firmly established itself as a favourite among Bollywood enthusiasts.
