Three major films hit theatres on Independence Day, August 15, leading to a significant box office clash. According to Sacnilk reports, Stree 2 emerged as the biggest opener of the year, outperforming the other two releases. It even surpassed Gadar 2's opening day collection of Rs. 40.1 Cr by earning Rs. 54.35 Cr on its first day. Early estimates suggest that Stree 2 collected Rs. 46 Cr on Thursday and Rs. 8.35 Cr from Wednesday evening shows, making it the highest Hindi opener of the year, beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter which collected Rs. 24.6 Cr on its opening day.

John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh's Vedaa lagged significantly behind Stree 2 with an opening day collection of Rs. 6.52 Cr, primarily from the Hindi market.

Among the three films, Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor's Khel Khel Mein had the lowest opening day collection, earning only Rs. 5 Cr on Independence Day. Despite outperforming Vedaa in advance bookings, Khel Khel Mein was surpassed by Vedaa in spot bookings.

The competition among these films was fierce due to their simultaneous release on a national holiday, but Stree 2 clearly dominated the box office with its impressive earnings.
