Stree 2 Outshines Competitors At Box Office, Marks Significant Lead Over Khel Khel Mein And Vedaa
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's horror comedy, Stree 2, has emerged as one of the year's major releases. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film has been performing exceptionally well at the box office since its debut. Stree 2 faced competition from Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa. This box office clash has generated significant interest among fans eager to see which film is leading.
Stree 2 had an impressive start, earning Rs 60.3 crores on its opening day, including paid reviews. In contrast, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa struggled with collections of Rs 5.05 crores and Rs 6.3 crores, respectively. Over the opening weekend, Stree 2 continued to dominate with a total collection exceeding Rs 190 crores. Meanwhile, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa found it challenging to reach the Rs 15 crores mark.

The first Monday is crucial for a film's box office performance. Despite a significant drop in numbers, Stree 2 maintained a strong presence at the box office on its first Monday. According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 earned Rs 38.1 crores on day five. In comparison, Khel Khel Mein collected Rs 2 crores, while Vedaa managed only Rs 1.5 crores on the same day. Clearly, Stree 2 outperformed both competitors.
This marks Akshay Kumar's third Independence Day box office clash with John Abraham after Gold vs Satyameva Jayate in 2018 and Mission Mangal vs Batla House in 2019. Addressing the clash between Khel Khel Mein and John's Vedaa, Akshay remarked, "Clashes at the box office keep happening. It's not a big deal at all. It's just a clash and not a slash."
As the competition continues to unfold, fans remain keenly interested in how these films will fare in the coming days. The initial success of Stree 2 suggests it may continue to lead at the box office.
