Stree 2 Achieves Highest Week 5 Box Office Collection, Surpassing URI: The Surgical Strike
Rajkummar Rao, known for his exceptional acting skills, continues to impress audiences with his diverse roles. After captivating viewers in Srikanth and Mr & Mrs Mahi, he is now in the spotlight for his third release of the year. Stree 2, a horror comedy directed by Amar Kaushik, marks his second collaboration with Shraddha Kapoor and is a sequel to the 2018 film Stree.
Stree 2 features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles. The film revolves around a ghost terrorising women in Chanderi. It received rave reviews and achieved the highest opening of 2024. Despite competition from Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, Stree 2 dominated the box office and remained unaffected by new releases.

In its fifth week, Stree 2 continues to perform well at the box office, setting new records weekly. According to Sacnilk, it earned Rs 2.5 crores on day 34 (fourth Tuesday) and Rs 1.89 crores on day 35 (fourth Wednesday), bringing its total earnings to Rs 562.24 crores. Notably, it achieved the highest day 34 collections ever recorded.
After five weeks in theatres, Stree 2 has broken several box office records. It became the fourth biggest first-week grosser, second biggest second-week grosser, biggest third-week grosser, and biggest fourth-week grosser. Now, it holds the record for the highest week five collection with Rs 25.75 crores, surpassing Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike which earned Rs 18.74 crores in its fifth week.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is preparing for his fourth film release this year. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Triptii Dimri and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, is set to hit theatres on October 11. This upcoming film is anticipated to be a comedy-drama.
