Stree 2's Box Office Triumph: Poised To Outdo Original Film's Earnings

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer, Stree 2, continues to dominate. After a six-year wait, the film hit theatres on August 15th and has set the box office ablaze. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror-comedy sequel is the biggest release of the year. Stree 2, the fourth film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Here’s a look at its box office performance.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao reunited for Stree 2, which released amid high expectations on Independence Day. It clashed with Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa but emerged as the clear winner. The supernatural horror-comedy sequel has captivated audiences.

Maddock Films reported that Stree 2 made a remarkable start with an opening day collection of Rs 76.5 crore, including paid previews. According to Taran Adarsh, it became the second highest Bollywood opener after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'. While Stree 2 earned Rs 55.40 crore without paid previews, Jawan had collected Rs 65.50 crore on its first day.

Despite a slight dip in collections, Shraddha-Rajkummar's film managed to earn Rs 31.4 crore on Friday, according to Sacnilk. The latest Sacnilk report estimates that the film minted around Rs 44 crore on Saturday, bringing the total estimated collection to Rs 151.9 crore over three days.

The original Stree, released in 2018, was one of that year's top grossers with earnings exceeding Rs 180 crore. The sequel appears poised to surpass the lifetime collection of its predecessor.
