Stree 2 Faces Hurdles At Box Office; Day 13 Collections Dip

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 13: Stree 2, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has emerged as one of the year's biggest hits. The horror comedy, centred on the Sarkata bhoot haunting Chanderi town, has captivated audiences both in India and globally. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in significant roles, with cameo appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa upon release, Stree 2 remained unaffected and dominated the box office. The film opened to glowing reviews and made an impressive Rs 60.3 crores on its first day (including paid previews), followed by a strong performance over the opening weekend.

The first week saw a dip in collections for Stree 2; however, it regained momentum during the second weekend. The film not only achieved the highest second Sunday collection but also joined the prestigious Rs 400 crores club. According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 earned Rs 18.5 crores on its twelfth day (second Monday) but recorded its lowest single-day collection of Rs 11.5 crores on the thirteenth day (second Tuesday), bringing its total earnings to Rs 414.55 crores.

Although Stree 2's pace has slowed down, it continues to set records at the box office. On its thirteenth day of release, it surpassed Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (Rs 10 crores) and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (Rs 9.75 crores), achieving the third highest day-13 collection. Additionally, it secured the fifth highest second Tuesday collection following Baahubali 2, Jawan, Gadar 2, and Animal.

Is Stree 3 On Cards?

Abhishek Banerjee hinted at a third installment of the Stree series in an interview with Indian Express: "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set."

The success of Stree 2 highlights its appeal among audiences despite stiff competition from other major releases. Its ability to maintain strong box office numbers showcases its widespread popularity and solidifies its status as a major hit this year.
