Stree 2 Witnesses A 70% Drop In Box Office Collection On Day 26

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 26: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 has been a major topic of discussion this year. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy made a strong start at the box office on its first day. Featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, Stree 2 is the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2018 film Stree. The plot centres around the sarkata bhoot terrorising women in Chanderi, with Rajkummar and his team stepping in to save the town once more.

Stree 2 surprised everyone by becoming the highest opener of 2024, earning Rs 60.3 crores on its first day. The film saw a significant increase in collections over its opening weekend and maintained good numbers during its first week and second weekend. Although there was a slight dip in earnings during the second week, the third week saw a more noticeable decline as Stree 2 struggled to make Rs 10 crores daily. However, the fourth weekend brought some relief.

Sacnilk reported that Stree 2 achieved its highest day-25 collection with Rs 11 crores on the fourth Sunday. Nevertheless, there was a sharp drop of over 70% on day 26 (fourth Monday), with earnings falling to Rs 3.25 crores. This brought the total box office collection to Rs 530 crores.

Despite the drop in numbers, Stree 2 recorded the third-highest day-26 collection ever, following Jawan and Pathaan. In comparison, Stree 2 earned half of Jawan's day-26 earnings of approximately Rs 6.65 crores. It remains to be seen if Stree 2 can regain momentum in the coming days.

Stree 2 OTT Release Details

After making waves at cinemas, Stree 2 is set for an OTT release within two months. Media reports indicate that it will be available on Prime Video from September 27, premiering around midnight.

The success of Stree 2 has led to speculation about a third installment. Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Janaa in the series, told Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time to develop, parts of the script are already written. He mentioned that it will be "a big epic saga".

With these developments, fans are eagerly waiting to see how Stree's story continues both on-screen and online.
