Stree 2 Box Office Collection Hits Over £515Cr Mark In Fourth Weekend

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 24: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's film, Stree 2, continues to perform well in its fourth week. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror comedy has revitalised the box office. The movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana and is the fifth instalment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe, which includes Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya.

The film opened to glowing reviews with fans praising Rajkummar and Shraddha's chemistry and the numerous jumpscare moments. Stree 2 had a strong start at the box office, earning Rs 60.3 crores on its first day. It saw significant growth over the opening weekend and maintained good numbers through the third weekend. The film even outperformed Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, both of which were released on August 15.

Despite a recent decline in daily earnings, Stree 2 still holds strong at the box office. With no major releases competing for attention, it remains a popular choice among moviegoers. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 4.5 crores on its 23rd day (fourth Friday) and saw a growth of over 90% on its 24th day (fourth Saturday), bringing in Rs 8.75 crores. This took its total collection to Rs 516.5 crores.

Interestingly, Stree 2 has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 in terms of box office performance. The Rajkummar Rao starrer now holds the record for the second highest collection on its 24th day after URI: The Surgical Strike, which earned Rs 8.92 crores on its corresponding day.

Following Stree 2's success, there are rumours about a third instalment being planned. Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Janaa in the series, mentioned to the Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time to materialise, parts of the script have already been written. He described it as "a big epic saga".

Though recent days have seen a drop in collections below Rs 10 crores per day, Stree 2 continues to draw audiences due to its unique blend of horror and comedy. The absence of new major releases has also helped maintain its momentum at the box office.

The film’s impressive performance can be attributed to its engaging storyline and strong performances by the cast. Fans have particularly enjoyed the chemistry between Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor as well as the thrilling moments provided by the sarkatat bhoot.

As it stands now, Stree 2 has not only revived interest in horror comedies but also set new benchmarks for future films in this genre within Bollywood.
