Sonu Nigam Criticises Rajasthan Chief Minister For Leaving His Concert Midway In Jaipur

Sonu Nigam, a well-known playback singer, has voiced his dissatisfaction with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and other delegates. They reportedly left his concert in Jaipur midway, which Nigam described as an "insult" to Saraswati, the goddess of music and arts.

The concert was part of a cultural evening at Hotel Rambagh Palace during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. Nigam, famous for songs like "Ye Dil Deewana" and "Suraj Hua Maddham," shared his thoughts in a video on Instagram. He stated that those planning to leave early should not attend such events.

Sonu Nigam Calls Out CM for Leaving Concert

"I saw that CM sahab and others got up and left in the middle of the show. As soon as they left, all the delegates also left. This is my request to all these politicians that if you yourself do not appreciate your artist then what will the people outside do. What would they think? I have never seen such a thing," Nigam said.

Nigam further expressed that leaving during a performance is disrespectful. He urged attendees to either not come or leave before the event starts if they must depart early. This behaviour, he said, disrespects Saraswati.

The singer mentioned he was unaware of the chief minister and delegates leaving during his performance. However, he received numerous messages on social media advising him against performing for politicians who might leave halfway through.

Nigam suggested that if politicians need to exit early due to their busy schedules, they should do so before the performance begins. He humbly requested them not to waste their time attending shows if they cannot stay throughout.

The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center in Sitapura on Monday.
