Sohum Shah Discusses His Journey To Secure Swedish VFX Team For Tumbbad Film

Sohum Shah, known for his roles in acting and entrepreneurship, as well as founding Sohum Shah Films, left a lasting impression with his performance in "Tumbbad." The film's re-release brought it back into the spotlight, highlighting its distinctive story and stunning visuals. Rahi Anil Barve directed "Tumbbad," with production by Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah. The story unfolds in the village of Tumbbad, where an ancient evil entity guards immense ancestral wealth hidden within a decaying castle. This narrative captivated audiences with its unique blend of horror and fantasy.

Sohum Shah expressed his unwavering vision for "Tumbbad," stating, "The vision I had for Tumbbad was so clear that I knew if I let it go, I might never find another project like it." One major challenge was securing the right VFX team. He explained, "We were working with a Swedish company, but delays made them question our credibility."

To gain their trust, Sohum and his team went to Cannes to persuade them of their vision. Their efforts paid off, as seen in the film's visual excellence that enhances its immersive experience. Sohum emphasized their commitment to quality by saying, "We didn't cut corners. We reshot when necessary, took time where needed, and ensured we perfected the product."

Sohum is now focused on future projects like "Tumbbad 2," which aims to continue the beloved saga. Another project is "Crazxy," set to release on March 7, 2025. The motion poster for "Crazxy" has already generated excitement among fans eager for the next chapter in Sohum's filmmaking journey.
