Written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Gandhi, it was produced by Sohum Shah along with Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah. The film stars Sohum Shah as Vinayak Rao.

'Tumbbad' received eight nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards and won three for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Sound Design.
