Sky Force Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 3: Akshay Kumar's Film Surpasses Rs 80 Crores Opening Weekend

Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, has quickly captured attention as his first release this year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, this patriotic drama draws inspiration from India's first airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. The film features a talented cast including Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya. It delves into the lives and sacrifices of Indian Air Force officers and their families amid conflict.

The narrative of Sky Force intricately follows Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya as Indian Air Force officers. Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan add emotional depth by portraying their spouses. Sharad Kelkar offers a unique perspective as a Pakistani Air Force officer, enriching the story with complexity. This casting choice enhances the narrative, providing a multifaceted view of the war. According to Sacnilk, Sky Force earned Rs 27.5 crores in India on day 3 but saw a slight dip overseas. The film collected Rs 1.5 crores abroad on day 3, bringing its total overseas earnings to Rs 6.5 crores.

Sacnilk also reported that Sky Force maintained strong performance globally on day 3 (first Sunday), surpassing Rs 80 crores worldwide. After its opening weekend, the film's worldwide box office collection reached Rs 81 crores.

Discussing Sky Force, Akshay Kumar shared with HT City: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
