Sky Force Box Office Day 8: Akshay Kumar's Action Film Surges In Morning Show Attendance

Akshay Kumar, known for his patriotic roles, is currently in the limelight with his new film, Sky Force. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, this action drama depicts India's first airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war. The film features Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya alongside Akshay.

Sky Force marks Akshay Kumar's first portrayal as an Indian Air Force Officer. His on-screen chemistry with Veer Pahariya has been praised by audiences. Since its release, the film has maintained a strong box office presence, highlighting its appeal and anticipation. With its patriotic theme and notable cast, it stands out as one of the year's most anticipated films.

On its second Friday post-release, Sky Force experienced an increase in audience numbers despite competition from a new release titled Deva. According to Sacnilk's report, the film achieved a footfall of 7.89% on day eight. This marked the highest morning show occupancy for that day.

Sky Force has been frequently compared to Hrithik Roshan's Fighter. On its eighth day and second Friday, Akshay and Veer's action drama surpassed Fighter's performance. For context, Fighter recorded a footfall of 7.77% on its second Friday.

Discussing Sky Force, Akshay shared with HT City: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
