Sky Force Box Office Day 6: Akshay Kumar's Film Shows Steady Morning Show Occupancy
Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, hit theatres just before Republic Day 2025. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the movie has captivated audiences with its thrilling depiction of a pivotal moment in India's military history. The film stars debutant Veer Pahariya, alongside Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, with Sharad Kelkar portraying a Pakistani officer.
Sky Force is set against the backdrop of the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war, focusing on India's first airstrike on Pakistan at the Sargodha airbase. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya play Indian Air Force officers for the first time. The film also introduces an engaging on-screen pairing of Veer with Sara Ali Khan, which has intrigued viewers.

On its sixth day in cinemas, Sky Force continued to perform steadily at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film achieved a morning show occupancy rate of 6.53% on its first Wednesday. This figure marks the highest morning show attendance for that day.
Sky Force has been frequently compared to Hrithik Roshan's Fighter. However, on its sixth day and first Wednesday, Sky Force did not surpass Fighter's performance. Fighter recorded an 8.50% footfall in morning shows on its sixth day and 8.45% on its first Wednesday.
Discussing Sky Force, Akshay Kumar shared with HT City: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
The ensemble cast and historical narrative have made Sky Force one of this year's most anticipated films. Its unique storyline and strong performances continue to draw audiences to theatres across regions.
