Sky Force Box Office Day 4: Akshay Kumar's Film Experiences Major Decline In Audience Attendance

Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, has been making waves since its release. Directed by Abhis Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the movie revisits the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. It highlights India's airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase. The film features a notable cast including Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya. It explores the lives of Indian Air Force officers and their families during wartime.

Sky Force intricately portrays its characters' lives. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya play Indian Air Force officers, while Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan depict their spouses. This adds a personal touch to the story. Sharad Kelkar plays a Pakistani Air Force officer, offering insight into the adversary's perspective. This casting choice broadens the film's appeal and provides a balanced view of the conflict, earning positive feedback from audiences and critics.

Sky Force Sees Major Drop in Box Office Footfalls

On its fourth day in theatres, Sky Force experienced a significant drop in box office collections. After earning Rs 27.5 crores on day three, the film saw a decline in ticket sales on its first Monday. According to Sacnilk, morning show occupancy was just 6.01%, compared to 26.78% on Sunday.

The film has been frequently compared to Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. However, Sky Force couldn't surpass Fighter's performance on its first Monday or even after its initial release days. Fighter had recorded an 8.88% occupancy on its first Monday and 20.29% on day three.

Discussing Sky Force, Akshay Kumar shared insights with HT City: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero." He explained his role as Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja is based on Group Captain O.P Taneja and is senior to Veer's character T. Vijaya, inspired by Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah.

"Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war; it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind," Akshay added.

The narrative of Sky Force delves deep into both historical events and personal stories of those involved in the conflict, providing viewers with a comprehensive look at this pivotal moment in history.
