Sky Force Box Office Day 3: Akshay Kumar's Film Outperforms Fighter In Morning Show Attendance
Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, has garnered significant attention as his first release of the year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, this patriotic drama is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films. The cast features Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya alongside Akshay, enriching the narrative with their performances.
The storyline of Sky Force is set during a pivotal historical event. It portrays India's first airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya play Indian Air Force officers, with Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan as their spouses. Sharad Kelkar takes on the role of a Pakistani Air Force officer. This compelling ensemble has significantly contributed to the film's buzz in the entertainment world.

Sky Force has shown a promising increase in box office numbers on its third day of release. After collecting Rs 22 crores on day two, the film saw an occupancy rate of 26.78% today (day three/first Sunday), coinciding with the 76th Republic Day. This marks an improvement from yesterday's morning occupancy rate of 23.53%, according to Sacnilk.
Sky Force has been frequently compared to Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. On its first Sunday and third day post-release, Sky Force outperformed Siddharth Anand's aerial action drama once again. Fighter had recorded a footfall of 17.06% in morning shows on its third day and 20.29% on its first Sunday.
Discussing Sky Force, Akshay shared with HT City, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
