Sky Force Box Office Day 1: Akshay Kumar's Action Drama Surpasses Pre-Sales Of Last Five Releases
Akshay Kumar, known for his patriotic films like Airlift and Kesari, is back in the spotlight with his latest release, Sky Force. This action drama, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, is inspired by true events. Akshay plays an Indian Air Force Officer, joined by Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, while Veer Pahariya makes his Bollywood debut.
The film centres on India's counterattack on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. This event marked India's first airstrike. The trailer and cast have generated significant anticipation among audiences. The advance booking for Sky Force has seen an impressive response, reflecting high expectations.

Reports from Koimoi reveal that Sky Force sold approximately 150K tickets on Book My Show (BMS) for its opening day. Additionally, Sacnilk reports that the film earned Rs 3.78 crores from advance bookings for the first day alone.
With 150K tickets sold for its debut day, Sky Force has outperformed the pre-sales of Akshay's previous five films on BMS: OMG 2 (90K), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (65K), Khel Khel Mein (29K), Mission Raniganj (11K), and Sarfira (10K). It remains to be seen if it can surpass these films in opening day earnings.
Discussing Sky Force, Akshay shared with HT City, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
