Sky Force Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar's Film Surpasses Rs 60 Crores On First Sunday

Akshay Kumar has once again taken centre stage with his latest film, Sky Force, marking his first release of the year. This action-packed patriotic drama is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. It draws inspiration from India's first airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war. The film features a cast including Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya.

The storyline of Sky Force unfolds with Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya playing Indian Air Force officers. Their characters are supported by Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, who portray their wives. Sharad Kelkar takes on the role of a Pakistani Air Force officer, offering a different perspective on the conflict. This casting enriches the narrative and provides diverse viewpoints within the film.

Sky Force had a promising start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 12.25 crores. On its second day, which was a Saturday, it collected Rs 22 crores. The film continued to perform well on its third day, Sunday, bringing its total earnings to Rs 61.75 crores.

The action drama achieved an impressive opening weekend collection of Rs 49.5 crores. This performance set a record for the highest opening weekend in 2025.

Discussing Sky Force, Akshay Kumar shared with HT City: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
