Sky Force Box Office Day 4: Akshay Kumar's Film Experiences Major Decline In Earnings

Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, marks his first release this year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the movie is a gripping patriotic drama. It draws inspiration from India's first airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war. The film features a talented cast including Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, and Sharad Kelkar, with Veer Pahariya making his debut.

The storyline of Sky Force delves into the lives of Indian Air Force officers, portrayed by Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya. Their relationships with their wives, played by Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, add depth to the narrative. Sharad Kelkar takes on the role of a Pakistani Air Force officer, offering a different perspective on the conflict. This casting choice enriches the story's complexity and highlights the multifaceted nature of war.

On its first Sunday (day 3), Sky Force performed exceptionally well at the box office, earning Rs 29 crores. However, there was a significant drop of about 77% in collections on day 4 (first Monday). The film earned Rs 6.25 crores on that day, bringing its total earnings to Rs 68.50 crores.

Despite the sharp decline in earnings, Sky Force achieved a notable milestone by recording the highest first Monday and day 4 collection of the year with Rs 6.25 crores.

Discussing Sky Force with HT City, Akshay Kumar shared insights about his character: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind."
