Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar's Film Achieves Significant Growth With 75% Increase
Akshay Kumar is making headlines with his latest film, Sky Force. This patriotic drama marks his first release of the year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, the movie features Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, and newcomer Veer Pahariya. The film has generated significant buzz among audiences.
Sky Force is an action-packed drama inspired by India's first airstrike during the Indo-Pakistani air war in 1965. It focuses on the Sargodha airbase attack in Pakistan. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya portray Indian air force officers, while Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan play their wives. Sharad Kelkar takes on the role of a Pakistani air force officer. The film received positive reviews from viewers.

The film had a strong start at the box office, earning Rs 12.25 crores on its opening day. On its second day, it saw a remarkable increase of over 75%, collecting Rs 21.50 crores on Saturday, just before Republic Day 2025. This brought the total earnings to Rs 33.75 crores.
With this impressive growth in earnings, Sky Force achieved the highest second-day collection of the year and set a record for the highest first Saturday collection in 2025. It remains to be seen if it will continue this momentum and break more records in the coming days.
Discussing Sky Force with HT City, Akshay Kumar shared insights about his character: "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind".
