Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar And Veer Pahariya Achieve Multiple Records

Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, has hit the screens just in time for Republic Day 2025. The movie, featuring Sara Ali Khan, Nimrit Kaur, and newcomer Veer Pahariya, is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. It portrays India's first airstrike during the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, focusing on the attack on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase.

In Sky Force, Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya play Indian Air Force officers. Their performances have been praised for capturing the patriotic spirit. Veer's chemistry with Sara Ali Khan has also garnered attention. The film has received positive reviews from both audiences and critics, achieving significant milestones on its opening day.

Sky Force has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film on its opening day in 2025, earning Rs 11.25 crores. This surpasses the previous record held by Game Changer, which earned Rs 7.5 crores in the Hindi market.

The film marks Sara Ali Khan's most successful opening since the pandemic began. Her performance alongside Veer Pahariya has been well-received by audiences.

Akshay Kumar's Impressive Box Office Run

For Akshay Kumar, Sky Force ranks as his fifth-highest opener since COVID-19. His other top openers include Sooryavanshi (Rs 26.29cr), Bade Miyan Chote Miya (Rs 16.07cr), Ram Setu (Rs 15.25cr), and Bachchhan Paandey (Rs 13.25cr).

Discussing Sky Force with HT City, Akshay said, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind."
