Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar's Film Earns Rs 11.25 Crores But Falls Short Of Fighter
Akshay Kumar's first film of the year, "Sky Force," hit theatres on January 24, 2025. This action drama, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrit Kaur. The movie is inspired by true events and marks the Bollywood debut of Veer Pahariya, son of business tycoon Sanjay Pahariya and Smruit Shinde.
"Sky Force" is based on India's historic airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistani war in 1965. The film's trailer generated significant buzz, with fans praising the chemistry between Veer and Sara. Despite speculations about its box office performance, the film had a promising start at cinemas.

The film earned Rs 3.78 crores from advance bookings and achieved a double-digit opening at the box office. According to Sacnilk, "Sky Force" collected Rs 11.25 crores on its first day.
Despite comparisons with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's "Fighter," "Sky Force" couldn't surpass it. "Fighter" made Rs 22.5 crores on its opening day, while "Sky Force" earned half that amount with Rs 11.25 crores.
Sky Force Box Office Records
With its impressive opening, "Sky Force" holds the record for the highest opening of 2025 so far. It remains to be seen if it can maintain this momentum in the coming days.
Discussing "Sky Force," Akshay Kumar shared with HT City, "Everyone declared him (Sqd. Ldr. A.B. Devaiah) a traitor and 23 saal tak kisi ko nahi pata tha that actually he was a hero. The character I play, Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja, based on Group Captain O.P Taneja, is senior to the character Veer plays in the film - T. Vijaya, based on Sqd. Ldr. Devaiah. Aap log vishwas karenge ki 23 saal baad inke parivar ko sarkaar ne maha vir chakra diya? The whole film is not only about war, it is also about what happens to the family and the children left behind."
