Sidhant Gupta's Role As Nehru Deepens His Bond With Indian Independence
Sidhant Gupta, known for his role as Jay Khanna in the Amazon Prime series Jubilee, is set to take on a significant new role. He will portray India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in the upcoming series Freedom at Midnight.
On India's Independence Day, Sidhant shared a touching memory that highlighted the emotional impact of his new role. He described how a moment with the Indian flag became deeply meaningful after embodying the character of Nehru.

"After six intense months of shooting for Freedom at Midnight, I visited my hometown for a much-needed break, literally just two weeks ago. My brother had bought a new swanky car, and we were out for a drive in the middle of the night. On Jammu Tawi bridge, I saw this enormous Indian flag swaying freely in the wind. I said to my brother, 'I think I'm getting emotional looking at the flag.' He laughed and replied, 'I think you've been in character for far too long.' I smiled to myself, thinking, 'I hope this feeling stays with me forever.'"
For Sidhant, Independence Day has taken on a more profound significance. "Independence for me is not just freedom but a feeling of courage. That we are all independent enough to own our dreams if we choose to be," he expressed.
The upcoming series Freedom at Midnight will see Sidhant bringing Jawaharlal Nehru's character to life. Fans are eagerly awaiting his performance in this iconic role. The series will be available for streaming on Sony LIV.
