Siddharth Malhotra Keen On Reuniting With Rani Mukerji For Future Films

Siddharth P Malhotra, who debuted as a director with "We Are Family," later directed the successful film "Hichki" featuring Rani Mukerji. His latest release, "Maharaj," has garnered significant attention and praise. "Hichki" marked Rani's return to cinema after her maternity break and was a box office hit.

In a recent conversation with Filmibeat, Siddharth was asked about the possibility of collaborating with Rani again. He responded enthusiastically, saying, "In a heart beat, but she has to decide. I will keep going back to her with one script, another script. Rani is a gut actor; she is an actor who is got to feel that this will challenge me and will be worth my time, and worth my time to stay away from Adira whom she is obsessed about, only then she will say yes to that film."

Discussing "Maharaj," Siddharth revealed that Rani was the first person to watch the film. He shared, "Rani was the first one who saw the film. She loved it, and she is like a Satyam Shivam Sundaram person, she will tell you on your face 'this is bekar'. She genuinely loved it, and she is someone who has always been a very strong support in my life. I am grateful to have her in my life as a friend and an actor, but more as a friend. She is my Naina ma'am, she will correct me, I am her 9F student (laughs)."

Siddharth also mentioned his desire to work with Rani again if the right script comes along. He added, "The script must be challenging enough for her to spend that few hours away from Adira otherwise she is not doing that. In anything that I work, the effort is that if I have a role for someone of her calibre, then it is all up there (in God's hands). If it happens, I will be the happiest."

During their interaction, Siddharth disclosed that he has signed the biggest film of his career following "Maharaj." However, he chose not to reveal any further details about this upcoming project.
