Shontaan Vs Khadaan Box Office Collection Day 4: Dev's Film Dominates Over Subhashree's Release

The Bengali film industry is closing the year with diverse releases, capturing audiences' attention. Among these, 'Shontaan' and 'Khadaan' stand out. 'Khadaan' marks superstar Dev's return to popular cinema, while 'Shontaan' reunites director Raj Chakrabarty with actors Subhashree Ganguly and Ritwick Chakraborty after five years. Both films, released on 20th December, have been well-received, yet their box office performances differ significantly.

Raj Chakraborty's 'Shontaan' is a poignant drama about an elderly couple neglected by their son, portrayed by Ritwick Chakraborty. The film stars Subhashree Ganguly and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty alongside Anashua Majumdar, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Sohini Sengupta in key roles.

'Shontaan' opened with a collection of Rs 11 lakhs, according to Sacnilk. Positive word-of-mouth boosted its earnings to Rs 18 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 31 lakhs on Sunday. However, Monday saw a decline to Rs 12 lakhs. The total nett collection for the film now stands at Rs 72 lakhs.

Sacnilk reports that 'Khadaan' earned Rs 76 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 1.12 crore on Sunday. Despite a drop on Monday, it still managed to collect Rs 57 lakhs. The total nett collection for the film over four days is Rs 3.13 crores.
