Shekhar Home Review: Menon & Shorey Excel In Detective Drama That Misses The Mark
Shekhar Home Review: Have you watched Sherlock Holmes series? Shekhar Home is the Hindi version of it, set in Bengal. Featuring such talented casts in a vital role, the series was expected to deliver grand results. But, did it manage to do so? Let us take a look at whether Shekhar Home is worth binge-watching this weekend or not. Here's the honest review of Shekhar Home:
The acting was the series' strongest asset, holding it together until the end. Kay Kay Menon delivered an exceptional performance, while Kirti Kulhari, though compelling, could have improved, particularly during the reveal of her character's identity. Ranvir Shorey effectively fulfilled his supporting role. Despite Kirti Kulhari's strong presence, her character's impact was somewhat diminished by a lack of impactful dialogue. Additionally, the supporting cast, including Rasika Dugal, Shernaz Patel, Dibyendu Battacharya, and even Kirti Kulhari, could have been given more depth and exploration.

Story
The miniseries Shekhar Home features Kay Kay Menon in the lead role as detective Shekhar. The series is set 1990s era in Lonpur city in Bengal. Detective Shekhar is a professor who also takes out his time to examine the crime scenes. The series Shekhar Home pays homage to the time when there was no advanced mechanism to examine a crime scene and people used to depend on human's intelligence. Shekhar along with his partner Jayvrat Sahni played by Ranvir Shorey solve mysteries across India. Each episodes last around 40-40 minutes, featuring action scenes, examination of crime scenes, intellect fights with the criminals. The first two episode might reflect as a little amateur as the character seems to not have been developed to it's fullest.
Direction
Shekhar Home is directed by Rohan Sippy and Srijit Mukherjee. From the very first episode, there's a noticeable sense of rush in the series. While Kay Kay Menon puts forth a commendable effort in his role, the director seems to have overlooked opportunities for greater creativity and visual storytelling. The characters in the series appear underdeveloped, leaving viewers craving more background and depth. For instance, Kirti Kulhari delivers a strong performance, but her character lacks the added flair and drama that could have made the scenes more engaging, resulting in a sense of the narrative dragging at times.
