Kay Kay Menon's 'Shekhar Home' Set To Captivate Audiences On JioCinema Premium
JioCinema Premium is gearing up to release the detective drama series, Shekhar Home, on 14th August. The show stars Kay Kay Menon in the lead role. The recently unveiled trailer offers a captivating look into Shekhar's world, showcasing his exceptional detective skills as he navigates through crime and mystery. The series also features Ranvir Shorey, Rasika Dugal, and Kirti Kulhari in significant roles.
Set in the early 1990s in Lonpur, Bengal, Shekhar Home pays homage to an era devoid of modern technology, relying solely on human intellect. Kay Kay Menon plays Shekhar Home, a brilliant yet eccentric detective. He teams up with Jayvrat Sahni, portrayed by Ranvir Shorey, a middle-aged bachelor who becomes an unexpected ally. Together, they solve various mysteries across East India.
Kay Kay Menon shared his thoughts on playing Shekhar: "Shekhar's character took me back to the good old days. I re-lived the memories of the time when social media was not even a thing. After reading the script and analysing this role, I was drawn to the complexity of unravelling mysteries. The series isn't just about solving crimes-it's also about exploring human nature in all its aspects- from love and loyalty to betrayal and deceit. Playing Shekhar was a pure delight. I'm excited to bring Shekhar to all of you."
The series is produced by BBC Studios Productions India and directed by Rohan Sippy and Srijit Mukherjee. It draws inspiration from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's literary works that are now public domain. The six-episode series promises a blend of suspense drama with humour, offering a compelling tale of friendship, love, betrayal, crime, conspiracy, and thrilling adventures.
