Sheena Chohan Transforms Into Lilith For Mythological Thriller Series
Sheena Chohan, an actress celebrated for her varied roles, has returned to India after a two-month stay in America. She arrived on July 4th and immediately began filming for her new role as Lilith, a she-demon, in a mythological thriller series.
Chohan recently completed filming "Nomad," a Hollywood film that matched the Guinness World Record for being shot in the most countries. Additionally, her film "Amar Prem" was featured in the official India section at the Cannes Film Festival. Now back in India, she is fully focused on her new web series.

Lilith is a biblical figure known as Adam's first wife, who was expelled from the Garden of Eden for defying him. She also represents an evil reflection of the feminine aspect of God and has been reclaimed as a symbol of independence due to her assertion of equality.
Chohan expressed her admiration for the producers' efforts in creating realistic makeup and special effects for the series. She said, "I'm so impressed with the producers of this web-series – they have gone to great lengths with the make up and special effects – I was attached to a high wire which sprung me out of a car in a highly detailed prosthetic mask, in front of a 30 meter green screen! I have just returned from my Hollwood film, but wow – coming back to Bombay to special effects like this shows me how the Indian film industry is fast catching up with and overtaking the west."
After completing her role in "Sant Tukaram," where she played Avali Bai, Chohan transitioned to playing Lilith. She remarked on the drastic change: "After I wrapped my historical biopic Sant Tukaram, a 15th century film where I play Avali Bai, I was offered the role of Lillith – so I went from one minute playing the wife of a saint, to the next the daughter of a devil! I had to read a lot of fascinating ancient texts – the story is said to have been removed from the bible, which added so much mystery I was hooked. And then, after all the reading and researching character references, the next thing I knew I was in six hours of make-up and then acrobatic training to be hoisted up fifteen feet in the air like an evil superwoman!"
The supernatural drama series is produced by IWIL Productions under Wilfred Fernandes. The eight-episode series employs extensive Green Screen Technology for its special effects.
International Collaboration
The images representing Lilith were captured by Serge Ramellli, an international photographer with work displayed in over 100 galleries worldwide. Ramellli is also making his debut as a lead actor in "A Parisian in Hollywood." He has directed several short films including 'Arthur,' which garnered over 20 million views on YouTube.
Chohan's career began with five years of theatre in Delhi before being launched alongside Malayalam megastar Mammootty by seven-time National Award Winner Jayaraj. She starred in two films by National Award Winner Buddhadeb Dasgupta and received Best Actress nominations at both Dubai and Shanghai Film Festivals for her film "Ant Story," which Netflix acquired.
Award-Winning Career
Sheena Chohan has shared screens with Madhuri Dixit in "The Fame Game" and Kajol in "The Trial." Her upcoming project includes playing Avali Bai opposite Subodh Bhave in Aditya Om's "Sant Tukaram." As South Asia Ambassador for humanrights.com, she has raised awareness about basic rights and equality among over 170 million people.
In June 2024, Chohan received the President's Award signed by President Biden for her humanitarian efforts. She was also honoured with the Human Rights Hero Award at the United Nations.
Chohan's return marks another milestone as she continues to balance international projects with significant roles within India's entertainment industry.
