Sheena Chohan Captivates In Amar Prem, Premiered At Cannes 2024
Sheena Chohan stars in "Amar Prem," a love triangle drama that premiered at the India pavilion at Cannes 2024. The film's poster and trailer were unveiled by Mr. Sanjiv Shankar, Joint Secretary of Information & Broadcasting for the Government of India, at the Barat Pavilion during the event.
Sheena Chohan's work includes Malayalam film "The Train" with Mammootty, "The Trial" with Kajol, and "The Fame Game" with Madhuri Dixit. She has also appeared in Disney Hotstar's "The City of Dreams 2" and Netflix's "Ant Story." Currently, she is shooting in the US, where her Hollywood film "Nomad" is set to release later this year.

Directed by Suvendu Raj Ghosh and produced by the Great Indian Film Television, "Amar Prem" showcases Sheena Chohan as Neha. "I play Neha, a girl who believes in true love and has a fulfilling relationship with her husband, whom she deeply loves and respects. Discovering a hidden truth from him is heartbreaking," she explains.
Chohan describes the film as an emotional rollercoaster that delves into the true value and purpose of love, making it one of her favourite projects. "What drew me to this role was the director, Suvendu Raj Ghosh. His vision for the project filled me with joy as it brings a message about life's purpose, hope, and love," she adds.
Sheena shares that "Amar Prem" connects with everyone as it explores the universal experience of love and loss. "It's a philosophical look into love, breaking through natural jealousy and desire to possess. It focuses on giving freedom and wanting happiness for loved ones," she says.
"Amar Prem" stands out as a unique film, addressing a touching subject. "I've never seen a film approach a topic like this," Chohan remarks.
Upcoming Projects
In 2024, Sheena has three more releases. She plays Avalai Jiji Bai opposite Subodh Bhave in the Hindi feature "Sant Tukaram," directed by Aditya Om. In a Telugu film, she stars alongside JD Chakravarthy. Additionally, she will play a negative lead as a She-Devil for another OTT platform.
Human Rights Work
Sheena Chohan was named Human Rights Hero at the United Nations and was personally invited by Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights, to promote human rights. She will receive the Lifetime Achievement – President's Volunteer Award from President Biden at a ceremony in Florida on March 8th.
