Shatrughan Sinha Discharged From Hospital; Denies Surgery Rumors
Veteran actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha, who was hospitalised last week due to a high fever, has returned home, according to his son Luv Sinha. The 77-year-old actor, known for his roles in '70s and '80s films like "Kalicharan" and "Vishwanath," was discharged on Tuesday after a routine check-up.
Luv Sinha shared that his father had been at the hospital for three days to recover from the fever and undergo various tests. "My father has been home since yesterday and was there (at the hospital) for three days to recover from a high fever and get all his tests done," Luv told PTI in a WhatsApp message.

On Monday night, Shatrughan Sinha posted pictures from his hospital room on X. He mentioned that he spent time with family and friends while recovering, away from the "controversy and confusion" created by some social media influencers.
There were rumours circulating on social media about the actor's health shortly after his daughter Sonakshi Sinha married her longtime partner Zaheer Iqbal. Some speculated that Sinha had undergone minor surgery, which Luv dismissed by clarifying that his father was admitted due to a strong fever.
Luv previously thanked well-wishers for their concern over his father's health. He emphasised that Shatrughan Sinha was not hospitalised for surgery but because of a high fever. Last month, Shatrughan Sinha was elected as the TMC MP from West Bengal's Asansol in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Shatrughan Sinha's Response
Addressing the rumours, Shatrughan Sinha told Times Now, "Arrey bhai, mujhe surgery hui aur mujhe khud nahin maloom (If I had surgery, wouldn't I know?) Just for an annual routine full-body checkup. I recommend it for everyone over 60. I've been travelling nonstop for my election campaigning for three months. Then, right after, my daughter got married. I'm no longer that hot-blooded, energy-driven young man who could do three shifts a day and still have the energy to party all night. I need to slow down."
The veteran actor stressed the importance of regular health check-ups for those over 60 years old. He noted that he had been busy with election campaigns and his daughter's wedding, which took a toll on his health.
Sinha's return home marks a positive turn in his recovery journey. Fans and well-wishers can now rest assured about his well-being as he continues to recuperate at home.
