Shaitaan's Steady Box Office Journey: Surpasses 133Cr Milestone

The Bollywood landscape witnessed a thrilling addition this March with the release of "Shaitaan," starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. This psychological thriller, directed by Vikas Bahl, is an official remake of the Gujarati film "Vash." The film also features Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala in pivotal roles, with Madhavan portraying the lead antagonist.

Since its release, "Shaitaan" has garnered positive feedback from both audiences and critics alike, particularly for Madhavan's portrayal of a negative character. The film's box office journey began with a strong opening day collection of Rs 14.75 crores, maintaining a steady performance through its initial weekend. Despite facing challenges during the weekdays, "Shaitaan" experienced growth during the weekends.

Shaitaan Crosses 133Cr at Box Office

Entering its third week, "Shaitaan" continues to hold its ground at the box office, even amidst several new releases. A recent report by Sacnilk highlighted that on its 20th day (third Wednesday), the film earned Rs 1.67 crores, bringing its total collection to Rs 132.62 crores. It is projected that on its 21st day (third Thursday), "Shaitaan" will add approximately Rs 1-1.5 crores to its earnings, surpassing the Rs 133 crore mark.

The film's sustained performance is noteworthy, especially with the upcoming release of "Crew," starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon. It remains to be seen whether "Shaitaan" will continue to attract audiences in the face of new competition.

In an interview, R Madhavan shared his experience working with Ajay Devgn for the first time. He expressed his admiration for Devgn, stating, "I have been in the industry long enough to know that if there is a real Singham in the industry, it is him." Madhavan praised Devgn's subtle emoting and diverse roles. He recounted his initial surprise at being offered a significant role in "Shaitaan," acknowledging Devgn's generosity in sharing the limelight. Madhavan hopes to do justice to the opportunity and kindness extended by Ajay Devgn.

The success of "Shaitaan" at the box office underscores the audience's appreciation for well-crafted thrillers and compelling performances. As it continues its theatrical run, it will be interesting to observe how it fares against new releases in the coming weeks.
