Shahid Kapoor Showcases Superstar Dance Skills In Bhasad Macha Choreographed By Bosco Martis

Shahid Kapoor's dance journey reaches new heights in "Bhasad Macha," the first song from his forthcoming film, Deva. Choreographed by Bosco Martis, the track highlights Kapoor's polished dance skills and his knack for portraying characters with controlled intensity. Martis comments, "He is technically sound. He has always pulled off choreography with all his energy but has now begun controlling it as well. That's beautiful... Now, he dances like a superstar. When you see him dancing, you celebrate with him."

Kapoor's input was vital in crafting the choreography, focusing on his character's unpredictable and assertive nature. Martis shares, "Shahid's vision for Bhasad choreography was that he wanted to keep it more character-dominated. There was a set body language he had manicured, so that's why he dwelled on it. We created that vibe through certain dance moves that would suit this character-so that was his and my vision on how to create that world."

The team drew inspiration from "Dhan Te Nan," aiming to amplify the sequence's energy and impact. Martis explains, "There was an absolute madness where we created and left him loose to be this crazy person with this crazy energy-an erratic and very dominating alpha-male character. It was a trigger from Dhan Te Nan for sure, but we wanted to take it a couple notches up. So, we had this whole free-spirited, free-style, free-flow energy, which Shahid did so well."

Director Rosshan and Director of Photography (DOP) Amit Roy were instrumental in realising this vision alongside Kapoor. Martis notes, "Rosshan had a certain body language and facial expression for this character, and I think it was very well executed. The way we wanted to capture and sync it, Amit Roy (DOP) captured the whole essence with the lighting and lensing. Everything was manicured in a certain way, so we managed to get that character, and it was our Dhan Te Nan, today's Dhan Te Nan."

"Bhasad Macha" showcases Kapoor blending technical skill with deep character engagement to deliver a performance rich in artistry and raw power.
