Sanya Sagar Discusses Her Marriage To Prateik Babbar And Personal Growth In Exclusive Interview
Sanya Sagar, known to many as Prateik Babbar's former spouse, has a story that extends beyond this association. Her journey began in Lucknow, leading her to Mumbai and then London for studies at the London Film Academy. Eventually, she settled in a peaceful Goan village. Recently, she appeared in the series 'Party Till I Die' and worked with Yami Gautam in 'Article 370'. Sanya finds peace in nature's simplicity and observes life quietly yet intensely. She shared insights about her past, present, and future aspirations.
How do you feel about your marriage to Prateik Babbar being influenced by family pressure? Would you handle things differently now?

Reflecting on her marriage and divorce with Prateik Babbar, Sanya told Filmibeat, "It's called life! What's meant to be will be. We end up doing things as they're destined, and they happen one way or another. There's nothing I'd change or do differently because it was all meant to take place." She added, "Societal pressure or not, decisions are personal, and they differ from person to person. My idea of marriage has always been different, but I'm glad I experienced it nonetheless. I'm very proud of the choices I've made in the past, and I'm sure what comes next will be impeccable, too."
Would you consider working with your ex-husband professionally if given a chance?
Sanya believes that "work is work" and prefers not to mix personal matters with professional ones. The actress remarked, "Did you say collaboration? Well, who 'collaborates' these days? We work for money, so if there's money involved, why not?"
How do you stay focused on your craft despite the entertainment industry's emphasis on external validation?
Sanya mentioned her need for external validation by saying, "Oh, I need external validation all the time." She explained further about her approach since her NIFT designing college days: "I'm always asking for feedback... People are different—some need it; some don't. I certainly do."
How do you manage privacy while being in the public eye?
Sanya described her current lifestyle: "I live far away in the jungle. Like I said, I love the craft more than the jazz around it. I love acting, writing, and storytelling... I've lived in cities like London and Mumbai but found peace in village life." She enjoys cooking her meals away from capitalism's hustle and prefers nature's tranquility over city life.
What upcoming projects can fans look forward to?
"Yes! I worked on an exciting sports drama called Tairaaki which should release this year—fingers crossed!" said Sanya. Discussing another project she added: "I also did an international film A Mosquito in the Ear with a Hollywood production... currently making rounds at international festivals." She hopes audiences enjoy her work while continuing to portray strong characters that inspire creativity and potential change.
