Samit Kakkad has established himself as a versatile filmmaker in Indian cinema. Known for his storytelling skills, he crafts narratives that deeply connect with audiences. His work is consistently bold and engaging, earning him both critical acclaim and a growing fanbase.

Samit Kakkad on Cinema and Storytelling

Kakkad began his career with impactful Marathi films such as Aayna ka Bayna and Half Ticket. These films gained international attention for their emotional depth. His subsequent works like Acharyachakit and series like Indori Ishq and Dharavi Bank received rave reviews.

Discussing his approach to filmmaking, Kakkad states, "Cinema for me is a medium to express the unseen and unspoken. With each of my work, it has always been the story first and then everything else follows. I don't think I can function in any other manner."

Besides Raanti, Kakkad is working on a major Hindi feature film. When asked about it, he shared, "I have signed with Sanjay Gupta to direct a feature for him and there is a book I am adapting with a production house. Both of them are starkly different stories and I'll share details soon."

Speaking about Raanti, Kakkad says, "Raanti is one of my most ambitious films, the idea was to push the boundary of what we have seen in Marathi cinema. I am grateful to have a brilliant cast in Sharad, Santosh, Sanjay, Chhaya and the entire team. It has been my constant endeavour, to push the envelope for myself, that's what keeps me going."

Kakkad continues to explore new horizons in filmmaking while maintaining his unique voice in Indian cinema. His dedication to storytelling ensures that each project resonates with audiences on multiple levels.
