Navi Mumbai Police Arrest Suspect Linked To Alleged Plot To Kill Actor Salman Khan

Navi Mumbai police have captured an individual linked to a scheme to harm Bollywood actor Salman Khan, as reported by an official. The suspect, Sukha, was detained in Panipat, Haryana. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday after being transferred to Navi Mumbai. This arrest follows the discovery of a plan in June to attack Khan while he travelled to his farmhouse near Panvel.

Earlier this year, there was a shooting incident outside Khan's Bandra home in April 2024. Khan informed the police that he suspects the Lawrence Bishnoi gang orchestrated this attack intending to harm him and his family. His statement has been included in the charge sheet submitted by Mumbai police regarding this case.

In January 2024, two unidentified individuals attempted to enter Khan's Panvel farmhouse using false identities, according to the actor's account. In 2022, a threatening letter was discovered on a bench opposite his building. Additionally, in March 2023, an email threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was received by Khan.

The police revealed that gangs led by Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra had assigned approximately 60 to 70 members to track Khan's activities. These efforts included reconnaissance at his Bandra residence, Panvel farmhouse, and film locations. Based on specific intelligence about the assassination plot against Khan, authorities filed a case against multiple individuals at Panvel Town police station on April 24.

The ongoing investigation highlights the serious nature of threats faced by Salman Khan. The involvement of organised crime groups underscores the need for heightened security measures around him. As legal proceedings continue, authorities remain vigilant in ensuring Khan's safety and bringing those responsible for these threats to justice.
