Sajid Khan Discusses Impact Of #MeToo Allegations On His Life And Career Challenges

Sajid Khan, a well-known Bollywood actor and director, recently opened up about the significant impact of the #MeToo allegations on his life. In 2018, during the making of Housefull 4, multiple women accused him of sexual harassment. This resulted in his removal from the project and caused a major halt in his career.

Despite being cleared by the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), Sajid struggled to regain his footing in the film industry. Financial hardships forced him to sell his home and move into rented housing. He recalled beginning to support his family at 14 after his father, Kamran Khan, passed away leaving them in debt.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sajid shared the emotional turmoil he endured over six years. "I thought of ending my life many times in the last six years," he confessed, describing this phase as "extremely bad." The lack of work and public scrutiny deeply affected him.

The director of the Housefull series discussed how difficult it has been to deal with recent challenges. "Even after IFTDA cleared me, getting back on my feet has been a slow and painful process," he stated, acknowledging how tough it is to reclaim his position in Bollywood.

Sajid reflected on personal losses and expressed regret that his mother, Menaka Irani, wasn't alive to witness his efforts to rebuild. "More than her son, I was her caretaker. Life has been quite tough," he admitted, emphasizing their strong connection.

After stepping down from Housefull 4, Farhad Samji took over as director. Throughout his career, Sajid directed films like Heyy Babyy, Darna Zaroori Hai, and Himmatwala. Despite controversies surrounding him, he is striving to move forward with his life.
