Saif Ali Khan Shows Positive Recovery After Knife Attack Surgery At Lilavati Hospital
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering well after being attacked at his home. He is currently receiving treatment in a Mumbai hospital. Doctors have stated that he is expected to be discharged within two to three days.
The 54-year-old actor suffered multiple stab wounds, including one on his neck. He underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital following the attack by an intruder in his Bandra apartment early Thursday morning.

Dr. Nitin Dange, a neurosurgeon at Lilavati Hospital, shared that Khan's recovery is progressing as anticipated. "We are observing his progress and he is doing excellently well according to our expectations," Dr. Dange said. The medical team has recommended bed rest for Khan and plans to discharge him soon if he remains comfortable.
The doctors have been monitoring Khan closely and even had him walk around. "Today when we made him walk, he was completely okay to walk," Dr. Dange noted. The actor has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a special room due to his stable condition.
Khan sustained three injuries: two on his hand and one on the right side of his neck. The most severe injury was in the thoracic spine, where a sharp object was lodged deeply but did not damage the spinal cord, according to Dr. Dange.
The medical team successfully removed the object and repaired the spinal injury. "He is very lucky," Dr. Dange remarked, explaining that they managed to repair the leaking spinal fluid and dura effectively.
Family's Ordeal During Incident
During the attack, Khan's family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor and their sons Jeh and Taimur, were present in their 12th-floor apartment in 'Satguru Sharan' building along with five house helps.
Jeh's nanny, Eliyama Philip, who first encountered the attacker, reported that he demanded Rs 1 crore. She described waking up around 2 am upon hearing a noise and seeing a man approaching Jeh's bed.
Intruder's Intentions
The intruder did not force entry into Khan's flat but likely sneaked in during the night intending to rob them, police officials stated. Philip recounted how she panicked when she saw the armed man with a wooden stick and Hexa blade moving towards Jeh.
Khan was transported to the hospital in Bandra by an autorickshaw after being awarded a Padma Shri in 2010.
