Sachiin Kumbhaar Talks Overcoming Racism For His Acting Comeback
Sachiin Kumbhaar, a prominent figure in the entertainment sector, is renowned for his charm and conversational prowess. He has carved out a successful career as an anchor, host, moderator, and voice-over artist. His impressive client list includes major brands like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, and Miss India. Despite his achievements in these areas, he had not explored acting until recently.
In the early stages of his career, Sachiin encountered racism that significantly affected his confidence as an actor. This experience led him to concentrate solely on hosting and voice-over work. However, destiny had other plans for him. He has now embraced a pivotal role in the short film 'Tu Chal Main Aaya,' much to the delight of his supporters.

Sachiin recounted a memorable incident from 2014 when he auditioned for an acting role but was turned down due to his skin colour. "I moved to India around 2011-2012 from Dubai. I came here and wanted to become an anchor, voiceover artiste and an actor as well. I remember it was 2014 when I went for an acting audition and I was told clearly on my face that they are looking for a fair individual. It completely put me off and since then till last year, I didn't look into acting at all," he shared.
This rejection dampened his acting aspirations for years. Nevertheless, Kashyap Chandhock, a producer and casting director who saw Sachiin's potential, played a vital role in rekindling his interest in acting. "The Producer of this project and also the casting director, Kashyap Chandhock is the one who got me back... Whenever we met, he always insisted that I should act," Sachiin explained.
In 'Tu Chal Main Aaya,' Sachiin plays Sanket Patil, a life insurance agent from Nalasopara with dreams of becoming wealthy and owning a bungalow in Mumbai. This character starkly contrasts with Sachiin's real-life image as a stylish anchor known for his fashionable attire. "I am known as a fashionable icon... However, my character here is exactly opposite," he noted.
The role resonated deeply with Sachiin because it allowed him to connect with his Marathi roots. "It is very close to my heart because it is a 'Marathi mulga' and hence I could also resonate with the character a lot," he added.
Sachiin's journey from facing racism to making a comeback in acting showcases his resilience and determination. As he continues to excel as an anchor while venturing into acting, we wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
