Ruslaan's Opening Day Success: Surpasses LSD 2 And Do Aur Do Pyaar At The Box Office

Ruslaan Box Office Collection Day 1: The Bollywood landscape witnessed the arrival of Aayush Sharma's latest venture, Ruslaan, which made its debut in cinemas on April 26. Married to Salman Khan's sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, Aayush Sharma left no stone unturned in promoting his action-packed film. Despite receiving a mixed bag of reviews from both audiences and critics, Ruslaan managed to kick off with a decent start at the box office, surpassing the opening day collections of contemporaries Do Aur Do Pyaar and Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2.

Under the direction of Karan Butani and K.K. Radhamohan, Ruslaan features Aayush Sharma in the lead role. The film boasts a cast that includes Sushrii Shreya Mishraa as the female lead alongside notable actors such as Jagapathy Babu and Vidyya Malvade. The narrative centers around Ruslaan, whose life is overshadowed by his terrorist father's legacy. Dreaming only of serving his country to prove he won't follow in his father's footsteps, Ruslaan's life takes an unexpected turn, branding him with the very label he sought to avoid.

Ruslaan Surpasses LSD 2, Do Aur Do Pyaar

The action film opened to a modest reception at the box office, with early estimates by Sacnilk reporting a collection of Rs 60 lakhs on its first day. The movie saw varying levels of Hindi occupancy throughout the day, starting with 5.01% in the morning shows and peaking at 7.54% during the night shows, averaging out to an overall occupancy rate of 6.42% on Friday, April 26.

Ruslaan Outperforms Do Aur Do Pyaar & LSD 2

Despite what some might consider an underwhelming start, Ruslaan has outperformed its contemporaries at the box office. The film's opening day collections were higher than those of the romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar, starring Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, which earned Rs 55 lakhs. Furthermore, it significantly surpassed the day 1 collection of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 by Dibakar Banerjee and Ektaa R Kapoor, which only managed to gather Rs 15 lakhs.

The performance of Ruslaan amidst mixed reviews highlights the unpredictable nature of box office success and showcases Aayush Sharma's growing influence in Bollywood. As audiences continue to flock to cinemas, it will be interesting to see how Ruslaan fares in its quest to carve out a distinct identity and narrative within the competitive Bollywood industry.
