Roma Arora Highlights Unfair Treatment In Film Industry As New Year Begins
As 2025 began, Roma Arora's New Year took an unexpected turn. A recent social media post from her has stirred curiosity and concern among her followers. The post highlighted some troubling issues she faced in her professional life.
Roma, known for her roles in popular TV shows like Jhanak and Kundali Bhagya, starred in the film 'Pyar Mein Qurban,' which premiered on 3rd January 2025 at PVR cinemas across India. Three songs from the movie featuring Roma have already been released by Zee Music Company.

Despite being the female lead, Roma has not received full payment for her work on the film. She was only given a small initial amount, and subsequent cheques from the producer bounced. This financial issue has added to her frustration.
Roma shared on social media, "It's been nine months of follow-ups and calls with no response. I wasn't invited to the film's promotions, and now the producer, Imtiyaz Bhat, has blocked me on social media. All because I wanted to work professionally by having a signed contract. Despite being the lead in the film, my picture was removed from the final poster."
Roma revealed that other co-actors and crew members also faced payment issues. During the final schedule, multiple dates were blocked for her remaining four days of shooting but later canceled when she insisted on a signed contract. This led to reduced screen time for her.
The director of 'Pyar Mein Qurban,' Zuber K. Khan, made his debut with this film. Despite Roma's complaints about unpaid dues and lack of a contract, he pressured her to continue shooting without addressing these concerns. The filming began in January 2023 and took over a year to complete due to frequent schedule changes.
This unprofessionalism forced Roma to decline other opportunities. She had to turn down a role in DJ's Creative Unit's show 'Professor Pandey Ke Paanch Parivaar' because of date clashes with this film. Additionally, managing dates for Sony TV's 'Katha Ankahee' became challenging due to these scheduling conflicts.
Lessons Learned and Future Outlook
Despite these challenges, Roma remains grateful for the opportunity and wishes success for 'Pyar Mein Qurban,' acknowledging the hard work of everyone involved. She hopes her experience serves as a lesson about the importance of proper documentation in professional settings.
Roma explained that she chose to speak out now to reveal industry realities and emphasize that written contracts are crucial over verbal agreements. Her aim is to protect others by highlighting how vital clear agreements are in any professional setting.
Remaining optimistic despite setbacks, Roma views this as an isolated incident in an otherwise smooth career journey. She looks forward to collaborating with ethical producers and directors while embracing new opportunities for fulfilling experiences in Bollywood.
