Rhea Chakraborty Terms Life Post Sushant Singh Rajput As 'Rebirth'

The death of Sushant Singh Rajput deeply impacted Bollywood, revealing issues like nepotism and drug abuse within the industry. His then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, became a central figure in the controversy following his suicide in June 2020.

In the first episode of Chapter 2, Rhea Chakraborty spoke with Sushmita Sen about her struggles after Sushant's death. She said, "Everybody knows my 'chapter one', or assumes that they know it. I did go through a lot of phases of feeling different emotions, being different versions of myself. Finally, I am feeling more me, but a newer version, like a rebirth. And I want to celebrate that with anyone who has a 'chapter two'. I want to say that it is ok to have a chapter two, to start again, to move on in life. I want to celebrate change."

Sushant was found hanging in his apartment on June 14, 2020. Initially, the police did not suspect foul play. However, the case soon turned into a series of accusations and counter-accusations.

Following Sushant's death, Rhea and her brother Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for drug-related charges. They were later released on bail after spending significant time in custody. This year, they were allowed to travel abroad under the NDPS Act.

Rhea Chakraborty's involvement in the case brought her under intense scrutiny and public criticism. Despite this, she has been trying to rebuild her life and career post these events.

The incident not only highlighted personal tragedies but also sparked debates about mental health and substance abuse in Bollywood. It remains one of the most talked-about events in recent times.
