Rautu Ka Raaz OTT Release: Rajesh Kumar On His Role And The Film's Uttarakhand Setting
"You have worked with Nawaz before in Haddi. How has your relationship evolved with him, and how does that translate onscreen in Rautu Ka Raaz?"
There was a mutual respect, and in this entire film, there's an unsaid respect that we had for each other. Even during Haddi, we didn't interact much but a few days after the shoot of Haddi, the shoot for Rautu ka Raaz was going to happen, so somewhere, we carried forward knowing each other. During the shooting of Rautu ka Raaz, we spoke a little. With every moment on set and during rehearsals, there was a gradual building of rapport and relationship, and in that, there was definitely immense mutual respect. That same dynamic translated onto the screen as well.

The film is set in Rautu Ki Beli, a small town in Uttarakhand. This location was chosen because it is a very isolated and remote place, characterized by its slow-paced lifestyle and sparse population. "Rautu" refers to the Ravat community, and "beli" means village, essentially translating to "RaWat's village." The importance of this place in the plot lies in the fact that the entire village is explored in the film. The village's tranquil atmosphere, with its few inhabitants and serene surroundings, provides the perfect backdrop for the story. The silence of the village allows for every sound to be heard distinctly, from passing cars to chirping crickets at night. This setting complements the plot perfectly, as the investigation portrayed in the film unfolds slowly, mirroring the laid-back nature of the mountainous region where laziness can be induced by the cold breeze. Therefore, the mountains, weather, and silence all play significant roles, making Rautu Ki Beli stand out as a crucial aspect of the film's narrative.
Rautu Ka Raaz is available for streaming on ZEE5.
