Ram Kapoor Reveals Personal Life's Impact On Khalbali Records Role
JioCinema Premium is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated musical drama series, Khalbali Records. The trailer has already sparked significant interest and garnered positive feedback. The show delves into the fierce rivalry between commercial music and the rap and indie music scenes. It features a stellar cast including Ram Kapoor, Saloni Batra, Skand Thakur, Salonie Patel, EPR, and Kumar Varun. Directed by Devanshu Singh, the series brings its musical theme to life with soulful soundtracks by renowned composer Amit Trivedi and unique indie hip-hop tracks from Azadi Records.
Ram Kapoor discussed how his personal experiences influenced his role in Khalbali Records, especially the intricate father-son relationship. He stated, "The father and son dynamic really appealed to me because I'm also the son of a very rich and powerful father and I had to go through a lot to earn his respect, and so it was relatable, especially now that I'm a father myself to teenagers. It made me think about what my father was going through when he opposed me. Not that my father was part of the music industry, but the character I portray, Manvendra rai Singh, is a rich and powerful man who has reached the top of his industry. He's used to everyone listening to him and getting his way, which was very similar to my father. Everything just fell into place, and I said yes to this role."

Adding a nostalgic touch, Ram Kapoor shared," My father was a big fan of music, especially The Beatles. I grew up listening to them, and because of that, I started exploring all kinds of music. The Beatles are still my favourite band ever, and it all started with my father's love for them."
The series stands out for its musical elements crafted by Amit Trivedi along with indie hip-hop tracks by Azadi Records. These soundtracks play a crucial role in portraying the intense competition within the music industry depicted in Khalbali Records.
Khalbali Records will be available for streaming exclusively on JioCinema Premium starting 12th September.
