Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Srikanth’ Battles For Box Office Survival Against ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’
Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 22 Prediction: Today is significant for Rajkummar Rao as his much-anticipated film, Mr and Mrs Mahi, hits the screens. This marks Rajkummar's second release this month, following Srikanth, which premiered on May 10. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth features Sharad Kelkar, Jyothika, and Alaya F in lead roles.
Srikanth is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and founder of Bollant Industries. Rajkummar Rao stars in the titular role. The film received positive reviews from both audiences and critics, making it an endearing watch. It had a decent start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 2.24 crores and an impressive opening weekend.

While weekday collections for Srikanth saw slight dips, weekends brought a significant increase in numbers. However, the film struggled during its third week at the box office. Despite a good jump in numbers during the third weekend, Srikanth found it challenging to make Rs 1 crore during the third week. With Mr and Mrs Mahi releasing today, Srikanth is expected to face more difficulties at the box office.
According to Sacnilk, Srikanth earned Rs 85 lakhs on its third Wednesday (day 20) and Rs 79 lakhs on its third Thursday (day 21), bringing its total collection to Rs 40.34 crores. Given the current trend, Srikanth is expected to see another drop in collections, likely earning Rs 60-70 lakhs today (day 22/fourth Friday). It remains to be seen if Srikanth can regain momentum over the weekend amid competition from Mr and Mrs Mahi.
Rajkummar Rao is currently enjoying positive feedback for Srikanth. His latest film, Mr and Mrs Mahi, co-stars Janhvi Kapoor and marks their second collaboration after Roohi. Janhvi recently spoke about working with director Sharan Sharma: "Our director is a purist and works with a lot of honesty. He wanted me to become a cricketer for the film without using VFX or doing anything half-heartedly. I suffered many injuries while prepping, including dislocating both shoulders. I give all credit to him and my coaches Abhishek Nayar and Vikrant sir."
