Rajkummar Rao's 'Srikanth' Beats 'Roohi' At Box Office Despite Dip

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 6: Rajkummar Rao, known for his versatility in Bollywood, continues to impress with his latest release, Srikanth. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and founder of Bollant Industries. The movie also stars Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.

Srikanth generated significant buzz with its trailer and has received positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Rajkummar's portrayal of the titular character has been particularly praised. The film had a strong opening day, collecting Rs 2.25 crores, and maintained momentum over the weekend.

Despite a dip on the first Monday, Srikanth managed to hold steady at the box office throughout its first week. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 1.65 crores on its first Monday (day 4) and Rs 1.6 crores on its first Tuesday (day 5). Early trends indicate that Srikanth collected Rs 1.50 crores on its first Wednesday (day 6), bringing its total earnings to Rs 16.45 crores.

Interestingly, Srikanth outperformed Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's previous collaboration, Roohi, which earned Rs 1.20 crores on its first Wednesday. This success further cements Rajkummar's status as a bankable star in Bollywood.

Looking ahead, Rajkummar Rao will reunite with Janhvi Kapoor for Sharan Sharma's Mr & Mrs Mahi, set to release on May 31. Janhvi recently shared insights about her preparation for the role, stating, "Our director is a purist and works with a lot of honesty. He wanted me to become a cricketer for the film without relying on VFX or shortcuts."

Janhvi also revealed the physical challenges she faced while preparing for the role. "I suffered several injuries during training, including dislocating both shoulders. However, I owe my progress to our director and my coaches Abhishek Nayar and Vikrant sir," she added.

The anticipation for Mr & Mrs Mahi is high, especially given the dedication shown by its cast and crew. Fans are eager to see how this upcoming film will fare at the box office compared to their previous projects.
