Rajkummar Rao's 'Srikanth' Poised To Cross ₹20Cr Before Second Weekend

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 8 Prediction: Rajkummar Rao has every reason to be pleased. His first release of the year, Srikanth, featuring Jyothika, Sharad Kelkar, and Alaya F, has been well-received. The film is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and founder of Bollant Industries, with Rajkummar in the lead role.

After generating significant buzz with its heartfelt trailer and impressive cast, Srikanth opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences. Fans have praised Rajkummar Rao's performance, suggesting it could earn him a National Award. The film had a strong start at the box office, collecting Rs 2.25 crores on its opening day and seeing increased numbers over the opening weekend.

Although Srikanth experienced a dip in collections on its first Monday, it has maintained a steady hold at the box office during its first week. Despite competing with Wes Ball's Kingdom Of The Planet Of Apes, Srikanth earned Rs 1.5 crores on its first Wednesday (day 6) and Rs 1.45 crores on its first Thursday (day 7), bringing its first-week total to Rs 17.90 crores.

Based on current trends, Srikanth is expected to see another dip in collections today (day 8/second Friday), likely earning between Rs 1-1.25 crores as it approaches the Rs 20 crores mark ahead of the second weekend. It remains to be seen if Srikanth will gain momentum during the second weekend.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar discussed his role in Srikanth, stating that he could relate to the character's background. "I could definitely resonate with his perseverance, with his grit and his working nature. I wouldn't say exactly, but I could somehow relate to his background because he too comes from a very humble background. And in my life also there were a lot of hardships when it came to money and having a big dream in life and to actually achieve that dream was something I could relate to," he told Firstpost.

Additionally, Rajkummar is preparing for his second release of the year, Mr and Mrs Mahi, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Sharan Sharma, this film marks Rajkummar's second collaboration with Janhvi after Roohi. Mr and Mrs Mahi is scheduled for release on May 31, 2024.
