Rajesh Kumar, known for his role in "Binny and Family," believes that OTT platforms have reshaped the entertainment industry. He notes that talented actors, previously without film opportunities, now find significant roles on these platforms. "The rise of OTT platforms has definitely changed the trajectory for everyone. Good actors, who didn't have good films coming their way, have suddenly bounced back with strong OTT shows and substantial roles. It has had a ripple effect, as the advent of OTT has provided opportunities to everyone, especially those who had been idle for some time and deserved good roles," he says.

He observes that audiences are increasingly drawn to this type of content. "Now, viewers want to see more of such actors because the performances are more grounded and less melodramatic. These authentic performances are being accepted, and people are looking for real faces and actors, as the scripts support them better. On OTT, you're free to express yourself creatively, without many restrictions or concerns about moral responsibilities, at least from a creative standpoint," he says.

Kumar discusses how diverse roles on OTT platforms affect his project selections. He explains that while he doesn't have complete freedom in choosing roles yet, there are many offers available. "For actors like me, the choice comes at a later stage. Whatever roles I get, I try to do my best, and they are usually offered with my personality in mind. Once I go through the script, many projects feel suitable for me," he mentions.

The actor highlights the creative liberty provided by OTT compared to traditional media like films or television. He appreciates that there are fewer constraints on creative expression in this medium. "While OTT does give actors some choice, I wouldn't say I have complete freedom in choosing roles yet, but yes, there are a lot of offers. The OTT platform certainly provides creative freedom, which I mentioned earlier. Compared to traditional mediums like film or television, OTT allows for more creative expression, as there are fewer filters at every level."

Overall, Kumar sees OTT as a game-changer for both actors and audiences alike. The platform not only offers new opportunities but also caters to viewers' growing appetite for genuine storytelling and performances.
