Raj Kundra Faces ED Summons Amid Ongoing Pornography Investigation Following Recent Raids

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty's husband, Raj Kundra, is once again in the public eye. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned him for questioning over allegations of producing and distributing pornographic content. The controversy centres around Armsprime Media Private Limited, founded by Kundra in 2019. This company developed the Hotshots app, which is implicated in a pornography racket. Although sold to Kenrin Limited, run by Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, authorities claim Kundra still influenced the app and similar platforms. These platforms allegedly distributed adult content and earned substantial revenue from subscriptions. Testimonies from four employees have shed light on this network's operations.

Kundra's legal troubles extend beyond this case. He is also linked to the Gain Bitcoin Ponzi Scam, which caught the ED's attention earlier this year. The agency seized assets worth Rs 98 crore, including a Mumbai flat, a Pune bungalow, and equity shares. This action followed an investigation into Amit Bharadwaj's Ponzi scheme that began in 2018 and eventually involved Kundra and Shetty.

The origins of the pornography case date back to February 2021 when Mumbai Police began investigating complaints from several women. They claimed they were coerced into participating in adult content under false pretenses of auditions for web series and films. This content was then distributed on subscription-based apps like HotHit Movies, Nuefliks, and others.

In July 2021, the investigation took a significant turn when Mumbai Police arrested Kundra for his alleged role in creating and distributing adult content. Despite being granted bail, he has denied all accusations, stating: "I have been made a scapegoat in the case." This highlights the contentious nature of his legal battle.
